Real Support for Adult Children of Aging Parents

You shouldn't have to hold this alone.

A private, virtual 75-minute session with me to get your parents' information organized, the hard conversations planned, and real support in your corner.

You know your mom's coffee order. You know which one of you she calls when the Wi-Fi stops working. You know your dad will insist everything important is in the filing cabinet.

But do you know where the will actually is? Who has power of attorney? What accounts exist, and how the bills get paid? Do you know where her medication list and health history are kept, the ones paramedics would actually need if they were standing in her kitchen? How you'd get into his phone or her email if you suddenly had to?

This isn't about planning a funeral over Sunday dinner. It's about knowing what to ask, and how to ask it, before you're asking it in a hospital hallway.

Sitting down to write out a plan, quietly, in your own time.
What This Is

The paperwork matters. So does having someone beside you while you sort it out.

Most adult children never got handed a manual for this. Nobody sits you down and explains what you're supposed to know once your parents start getting older: what to ask, who to loop in, how to even bring it up. So you start noticing things instead, and carrying them quietly. Your mom just turned 76. Your dad's had a couple of scares. One of them handles everything, and the other one has no idea where anything is.

You're already holding a lot: your own family, a job, everyone's schedules, and now this too. And a quiet thought starts following you around: if something happened tomorrow, would you know what to do?

This is harder than planning a wedding or a move. Aging and mortality can make even simple questions feel heavy, and avoidance and denial are normal here, both yours and theirs. I've spent years guiding people through complex issues and helping people find their way through sensitive conversations steadily. Sometimes you need a script or solution, and sometimes you just need to be seen and supported. I do both, and we face all of it together, so that you aren't in any of it alone.

If you've taken the Readiness Review, you've already done the first part. You know what's handled, what's still floating around in your head, and what you've been meaning to get to. Now we turn that into something you can actually use.

I'm In This With You

The Before, Together Parent Planning Session

We spend 75 minutes going through your actual situation together. By the end, you have a real plan built around your family, and someone in this with you.

This is a private, virtual session. We'll look at what your parents already have in place, what's missing, what conversations still need to happen, and who else might need to be part of this. If you've taken the Readiness Review, I'll have it in front of me, so we won't spend our time repeating things you've already told me. We'll use it for the things that need a human conversation. Not a template pulled off the internet. Yours, and you won't be sorting it out by yourself.

Your Checklist

Built around your actual family, not a template. What to find, what to confirm, what to ask.

The Document Map

What needs locating, what needs confirming, and what doesn't exist yet, so you know exactly where things stand.

The Conversation Plan

Knowing you need to talk to your parents is one thing. Knowing how to bring it up without sounding like you've started planning their funeral is another. We'll map an approach that fits how your family actually talks to each other.

The Questions to Ask

The specific things to ask your parents now, while they can still answer them.

Digital Access, Sorted

Phones, email, online accounts, passwords. Life doesn't live in a filing cabinet anymore, whatever your dad insists.

Who Else You Might Need

If your family needs a lawyer, accountant, financial planner, or another professional, you'll know which kind to look for.

Your First 30 Days

What to do first, second, and third, so this becomes something you actually move on instead of another line on a list you're avoiding.

Plus, You Leave With
Your Personalized Follow-Up Plan

Written from what we actually find in your session together, not a generic template. Your priorities, in the order that makes sense for your family, with next steps attached to each one. I'll also send any Fare-Well Co. templates, scripts or resources that fit your situation.

The Before Kit a $49 CAD value, included

Our organizing and planning system, built for exactly this. Eighteen planning sheets that cover your documents, money, passwords, wishes and more, plus a worksheet that shows you at a glance what's done and what's still open. It covers the same ground we go through together, so nothing gets lost after the session ends. Work through it twenty minutes at a time, and open it again the moment anything changes. See the Before Kit.

A Check-In About a Month Later

A 20 to 30 minute virtual check-in. Making a plan is one thing. Making it survive contact with real life is another. We'll reconnect, see what's moved, what's stuck, and what you need next.

Annual Reminder Emails

Life changes. So do wishes, people, passwords and plans. I'll remind you once a year when it's time to give yours another look.

$149 CAD

The planning system (the Before Kit) is $49 CAD on its own. This session is for when you want the system and you'd feel better with a real person beside you to help you get started.

Who This Is For

"You're the one everyone calls." The doctor's appointment, the confusing mail, the smoke detector that won't stop beeping.

Your parents are getting older, and you've realized you know less about their affairs than you thought.

You know a hard conversation needs to happen, and you don't know how to start it.

One parent runs everything, and you're quietly worried about what happens if they can't anymore.

You've already had one health scare, and it showed you how fast "someday" turns into "now."

You've taken the Readiness Review and want to turn it into a plan. Or you just want someone who's done this before, sitting with you while you figure it out.

Why Now

An emergency doesn't wait for the paperwork. It doesn't pause for a password, or for anyone to remember which lawyer drew up the will.

You can't control when your family needs this. You can control whether you're ready, and whether someone's beside you when you are.

You May Be Wondering
Is this only for people whose parents are already sick?+

No. Most people who book this are here specifically because nothing has happened yet. That's the best time to do it.

What if my parents don't want to talk about this?+

We'll build an approach that fits how your family actually communicates. You don't need their participation to leave this session with a clear plan for what to do next.

Do I need to bring documents or information with me?+

Whatever you've got is useful, but nothing is required. Part of the session is figuring out what you don't have yet.

What if I have siblings who should be involved?+

You're welcome to invite them to the session. Some people prefer to come alone first and loop the rest of the family in after.

What if I want to get my own things organized too?+

We can do that. Book the same session and note on your intake form that you'd like to work on your own planning, whether that's instead of or alongside your parents'. I think helping people get organized is one of the most loving things there is, and I'm glad to help with any of it, at any point.

Is this covered by insurance or a benefits plan?+

No. This is a private planning session, not a medical or clinical service.

Do I need to take the Readiness Review first?+

No, but it helps. It's free, takes about ten minutes, and shows you what's handled and what's still open. If you've done it, I'll have your results in front of me so we start where you are. If you haven't, we'll cover the same ground together.

What happens after the session?+

You'll get your personalized follow-up plan and your planning system, the Before Kit. About a month later we have a 20 to 30 minute check-in to see what's moved and what's stuck. After that, I send a reminder email once a year to revisit your plan.

Do I have to finish everything at once?+

Not at all. You don't need to know all the answers. Starting is the part that matters, and we'll figure out your next step together.

What This Session Isn't
×

Legal advice, or a stand-in for your parents' lawyer

×

Financial advice, or a stand-in for their accountant or planner

×

Medical advice, or a stand-in for their doctor

×

Me telling your parents what to decide. That's never my call

My job is to help you understand what information you need to gather, what conversations need to happen, where the gaps are, and which professionals might need to be part of it.

Think of it as getting the map before you start driving.

The Session

75 minutes. One plan. Someone in this with you.

$149 CAD  ·  75 minutes  ·  private and virtual

You don't have to be the one who brings it up first, or wait for an emergency to make it real.

Your parents getting older isn't something you can prevent. Knowing what to do when the time comes, with someone beside you, is something you can prepare for.
